We are pleased to welcome the new (and returning) students of the University of Graz for the beginning winter semester.
Discover new facets of the Graz-based artist Herbert Brandl in the newly opened exhibition "24/7," curated by Sandro Droschl. The focus is on the intermedia in Brandl's work: the exhibition shows his last cycle from 2020 (24 monotypes) next to an early cycle (7 ink works) from the 1980s in a juxtaposition, each of which seems to be painting, but isn't—or is it? Brandl's works once again invite us to question painting as a medium:
What constitutes a painting?
What makes a good picture?
On Students' Day, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., free admission to the current exhibition "24/7" is available to all students, staff of Graz universities, and alumni. For quick visitors we offer short tours at 11, 2 and 4 p.m.
