Colorful, abstract, free, special: the objective of this workshop is to find one’s own colors, so as to apply them while working with the material of papier-mâché. A focus is placed on the design aspect and on sculptural form. In the process, papier-mâché is seen not only as a working material—as paper—but also as an alternative to other materials that we find in nature or in production processes. Since many human sensations seem abstract, in this workshop we will work with the form vocabulary of abstraction. Each participant will discover their own favored colors and forms and find themselves mirrored, as it were, by these elements.
This summer, the KM– Lab, which is the innovative hands-on workstation at the Künstlerhaus, Halle für Kunst & Medien, is placing emphasis on practical-creative activity: various techniques can be tried out together with young protagonists from the regional art scene. People of all ages are invited to simply stop by and participate! No sign-up is necessary.
