As part of the exhibition by Ashley Hans Scheirl, we would like to draw particular attention to his renowned film "Dandy Dust" (1998) and watch it together with you and members of the Center for Gender Studies.
The movie "Dandy Dust" is about a personality-split cyborg of fluid sex. He/she zooms through the times in the fight against a family owned by the family tree. Sometimes Dust seems to be a boy, sometimes a white dandy-butch, sometimes a talking flame. On his/her body is operated on, the memory transplanted, the sex manipulated: an infinite transformation to complete dissolution in liquid. Similarly fluid is the use of the picture materials: Super 8, High 8 and 16 mm, projected and filmed again in a universe of comic-like accessories, in Splatter, Sci-fi, Actionism style.
