As part of the exhibition „Artificial Paradise? Immersion in Time and Space“, a performance by Swiss media artist Mark Lee, titled “Me, Myself & I”, will be staged. It raises the question of how the self is represented in the digital age. For some people, being increasingly active in digital spheres involves the risk of seeing themselves rather as the center of the world than as a part of society. For them, altruism has no significance. They are in a state of suspension, float across urban landscapes and turn into an egocentric superstar.
Marc Lee (*1969 Knutwil, Lucerne lives in Eglisau) creates network-oriented interactive art projects, interactive installations, media art, Internet art, performance art and video art since 1999. He experiments with information and communication technology and locates subject clusters that include creative, cultural, social, economical and political aspects.
Marc Lee's works have been shown at: ZKM Karlsruhe, New Museum New York, Transmediale Berlin, Ars Electronica Linz, HMKV Dortmund, HeK Basel, Fotomuseum Winterthur, Read_Me Festival Moskau, CeC Dehli, MoMA Shanghai, ICC Tokyo, Nam June Paik Art Center, Media Art Biennale und MMCA Seoul.
The performance will be enacted by Michelle Huwiler.
