Kamilla Bischof, Late Night Show, 2018

As exhibition curator, the KM– director Sandro Droschl will lead visitors through “SCHÖN VERMÄHLT” by Kamilla Bischof, an artist originally from Graz. On this joint tour, interested visitors will receive first-hand information about the exhibition’s beginnings and the artist’s creative process. Bischof creates large-size paintings featuring everyday objects as well as fantastic creatures. Moreover, her pictorial worlds are accompanied by prose texts in her artist book, which is released on the occasion of the current exhibition. Through a look behind the Künstlerhaus scenes, visitors will also gain worthwhile knowledge about the curatorial practice and self-conception of this art venue.

Sandro Droschl (*1970 Graz, lives in Graz) is the founding director and curator of the venue Künstlerhaus, Halle für Kunst & Medien (KM– Graz). From 2000 to 2003 he worked as curator of Kunstverein Medienturm, Graz, and was its director starting in 2004, while also serving as guest curator at other institutions. He has curated numerous exhibitions of contemporary art, edited over 30 publications, written contributions to art magazines, and also regularly serves on juries. Droschl studied “Körper. Medien. Kunst” with an emphasis on visual arts in the class of Isabelle Graw and in the open class, along with philosophy, journalism, and medicine at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, the University of Vienna, and London Guildhall University.
