In conversation with the art theorist and curator Ruth Horak the artist Ulrike Königshofer (*1981 Koglhof, Styria, lives in Vienna) presents her publication “On Perception” that will be published at the Verlag für moderne Kunst this spring. The monograph comprises the period from 2010 to 2016 and shows works that question our viewing patterns in an experimental way and deal with different aspects of human perception. The range of the works varies from media installations and mirror objects to photographic devices.

Accompanying the talk, Königshofer will show her video work “Die Rückseite der Wahrnehmung” (The Backside of Perception, 2012) that discusses the perception with and in the camera.

Ulrike Königshofer studied at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. Her works were shown in numerous exhibitions in Austria and abroad, most recently in the solo presentation “sense and record” in the Austrian Cultural Forum in New York. In Graz she exhibited at Künstlerhaus – Halle für Kunst & Medien (2015) and at the project space of Kunsthaus Graz (2013). Königshofer was awarded several prizes such as Erste Bank Mehrwert Kunstpreis and Theodor Körner Preis and was nominated for the last year’s advancement award of the county Styria.
