Rosa Barba ’s (Cologne/Amsterdam) cinematic works describe the moment before the vital action, an intermediate situation where meaning dissolves for an instant, leaving an impression of incompleteness. The plot of her stories develops along the delicate seams of notional and authentic realities; the suspense of period and moment, of expanded time and unique moment.
The string of events and minimal sensations compose the imaginary ways of her network. Spaces wherein the unlikely and the impossible can temporary burgeon. The topics range between otherness and the understanding of reality.
The video WESTERN ROUND TABLE (sound: Jan St. Werner , Cologne) shows former military bunker facilities in the Californian desert, which meanwhile have become redundant and experience a reinterpretation.
